Infinite Gathers More Fans in Japan Despite Korea-Japan Conflict

Infinite doesn’t seem to have been touched by the anti-Korean sentiments spreading through Japan.

On September 6, Japanese press outlets reported that the event held on September 2 to celebrate the release of Infinite’s third single album She’s Backgathered 10,000 fans in Yokohama.
3,000 fans out of those who purchased the single were invited to the event, but despite the bad weather and the fact that most didn’t receive the invitations, about 10,000 people, three times more than the intended number, gathered at the venue to see Infinite.

One outlet reported, ‘Although Japan is leaning more toward being anti-Korean due to the Dokdo issue, this doesn’t seem to have an effect on the Korean wave. The teenage fans we met at the scene said, “We don’t care if the members say Dokdo is Korean territory, and the issue isn’t a problem in our communication with Korean fans.”’

Recently the Japanese press has been evaluating that K-Pop seems to be on its way downhill in the country. Infinite, however, gathered even more fans to its event compared to last year. More than three times the fans that gathered for its first live event held in November 2011 came to see the group this day.

The Oricon Chart also shows that She’s Back sold about 40,000 copies in its first week, setting it in third for single rankings.
